ABOUT ME

I am a fully qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and trauma therapist. My private practice is based in Orpington in Kent, but I work online also with people from all over the UK.

I specialise in the impacts of trauma and PTSD, from events such as childhood neglect, sexual abuse, assault, domestic violence, accidents, serious illness, workplace trauma and financial trauma. But I work with clients with many other life challenges and emotional difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, stress and overwhelm, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, disordered eating and body image issues.

In my work with clients I provide support using a trauma-informed approach, which means rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I am instead more interested in asking, "What's happened to you?" Because usually the issues we struggle with have a direct link to what we have been through in life.

The aim of therapy is to help you to understand, process and overcome your experiences, and develop enhanced inner strength and resilience. By cultivating these qualities you can better manage future challenges. My role is to guide you in processing past events and shape the life you desire through purposeful, positive changes, which may include changes in behaviour, thought patterns, relationships, and other aspects of your well-being and happiness.

Please note that I only work with adults over the age of 18 and I do not offer couples or group therapy.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Accredited Professional Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)
